Call Of Duty - The Subscription! Eeek!

Modern Warfare 3 is on its way but with it will be coming Activisions latest attempt to get their greedy mits on your dosh. COD Elite will be the new Free service that gives COD fans and fruit baskets access to an overwhelming amount of stats and if you are a monthly paid subscriber you will get extra stats and DLC at a reduced price. It will tie in with all COD games from Black Ops on into the future for all platforms. Now, its important to understand that this wont conflict with the normal bought in the shop game, it is a extra not a necessity... at least not yet. I can see how this would appeal to Call of Duty fans but for anyone who just likes these games but isn't an exclusive type of player it might be much a do about nothing. Call of Duty - Black Ops - Escalation Vid Doc Preview!

Damn you Treyarch, damn you to hell!!! You are making me question my gaming principles - I hate the idea of getting ripped off for your map pack... again, but it does look rather good! Call of Duty - Black Ops - Escalation is a Go!

**Update ** Screw the Rock - I can smell when a rumour is cooking true or false and this one had true tattooed on its ass from the start - Its official 'Escalation' for Black ops is a go!! Its coming on the 3rd of May to Xbox, so less than a month to wait. Major Nelson let the monkey out of the bag today (check here for that). He also revealed that it is going to be the usual rip off price of 1,200msp - Told ya it would be that too, didn't I, eh! So I recon I'll just wait for a sale or something cos I felt like a cheep used whore after buying the 'First Strike' pack- and buying 2 map packs for Call of Duty costs nearly the same as buyin a new game, dirty, greedy Activision... Grrr!

Call of Duty - Black Ops - Berlin Wall trailer - Funny shit!

This is just genius and a must watch!! Its the Berlin wall trailer for the PS3 First Strike maps... and it rocks. It sooo 80's. Watch out for the white dove who learns a lesson about shitting on soldiers and the Scorpions soundtrack is just cheesy in the best possible way - love it! Gotta hand it to Treyarch, they may not be quite as slick as Infinity ward but man they are way funnier!!! Nice one lads! Enjoy. Now... where did I leave that air guitar, hmm...

Call of Duty - Black Ops - First Strike Trailer

Ya knew it was coming and it will explode onto the Xbox 360 on the 1st of February. Ps3 and PC gamers will have to wait another lil while unfortunately but I imagine it will only be a few weeks. More general details here. Check out the trailer below to get a taste of the carnage to follow!

Halo Reach and Black Ops - Mythbusted!

These videos below are great for any Halo or Call of Duty fans, although you may think you know all the 'can' and 'cannot's' in the game I'm sure there will be one or two surprises here. These guys are the Mythbusters of games, you can even give them a myth to test, cool eh! Anyway the lads are 'Defendthehouse' and you can see all episodes on their YouTube page here. Lots of other gaming bits here also but have a peak at the first episode for Reach and Black Ops below. It's good shit!!

COD - Black Ops - Map Pack - First Strike - Feb 1st!

Here we go with the Activision rip off plan... four new Multi player maps and a zombie mode map all for the neat price of 1200msp... neat my ass!! That's twice the price of four Halo maps, WTF!! Slightly better than MW2's offerings last year I guess... but still, what extortion! Anyway, if you love COD enough then ya will deffo get these and I have to admit they do look pretty interesting, just have a look at the vid below. The maps will be out on the Xbox 360 on February 1st (2011). PC and PS3 should get it soon after but that date is yet unannounced, tut, tut to exclusives eh. Check below for the map details. Keep an eye on the COD Black Ops homesite here for any updates... Enjoy.

Kowloon - Basically the Hong Kong mission from the single player campaign. Remade with multiplayer in mind but with zip lines and lots of camping positions. Allot of falling to be done I recon!

Discovery - Time for some snow, its a research station but has a deep chasm dividing it with narrow points connecting them, real fortress type stuff. Oh, be careful though the bridges can be destroyed, excellent!

Berlin Wall - World War II makes another appearance in Black Ops with this map, it is East meets west with a turret riddles no mans land... lots of slaughter!

Stadium - A modern complex with lots of close quarter combat and lots of camping potential, get out the shotguns!

Ascension - the Zombie map... no details as of yet but we bet it will have, um, guns and zombies!?

Free COD clothing for the ladies!

We have it on good authority that any Lady Avatars on the Xbox 360 can get two pieces of clothing for Call of Duty Black Ops, totally free... the 'SR 71 Flight Suit' and the 'Woods Outfit'. The reason for this is cos Activision gave free codes to people who bought the special editions and pre-orders but forgot to include chicks in all of it... how sexist! Anyway, 'shut up and tell us the free codes you pleb' I hear you scream... Oh, ok then, here they are:

Call Of Duty Black Ops - Easter eggs and Unlockables

Now that COD BO is being played with more than Charlie Sheens wiggley bits, we all have an idea of just how good the game is... but if that's not enough for ya and you are wondering how to play that mini game DOA that you may have heard about or for loads more goody bits, just check out the G4 reveal below. Don't worry, theres no spoilers. Its a nice touch this, I like it! Other game developers - take note! Good one for all you computer nerds out there also...

COD - Black Ops - Ice T, Floating Apples and a good Review!

OK, its out! The most talked about game of the year has hit our screens and the carnage will now commence. To celebrate we have three nice vids for you below. The first is Ice T unpacking the 'Prestige' edition, where he also shares his xbox call sign, followed by the Game Trailers video review which has a few surprises in it (like a hidden mini game) and lastly is the first glitch to appear in COD BO... is it a noob tube glitch? Or perhaps an immunity glitch? Well, ya will just have to watch the video to find out, how do ya like them apples!? Overall it looks like Treyarch have laid to rest any doubts that they couldn't pull of a 'Modern Warfare' type game, which is good for us gamers, plus they added zombies! So, happy fragging fraggers, and as Ice T might say - 'see ya online, Motherf**kers!'

Call of Duty - Black Ops - Maps, Killstreak, Ice Cube and Cucumbers!

Wanna know what goodies are gonna be in COD BO? And no, I don't mean the fishy smell, I mean the game! Then here is a lil peak at some screen shots that reveal the multi player bits Below - (thanks to Kotaku).

First image is the maps, they all look fairly standard names for a map... except 'Nuke Town' perhaps... Is that where Duke lives maybe? Ops, wrong game.

The second image is some of the kill streaks which seem to include Dogs, Napalm and sheep bombs!! No, just kidding about the sheep, thought I was looking at the load out for 'Worms' there for a sec... wrong game eh!

It is said that Ice Cube, yep the rapper, is said to be doing voice overs in the game... I bet Ice T will be pissed!! I suddenly feel like a cold drink after that. Anyway the other lil bit of news on this is that players will be able to make their own game types in the multi player and it wont have to rely on the Honour system to be played. Great, I want a cucumber on cucumber fight! Arg... wrong game again!

Check out this latest trailer for the single player of Call of Duty Black Ops, it looks nice! There's even a lil bit of what looks like 'The Deer Hunter' in there... I recon allot of Vietnam movies will be referenced in one way or another, which would be kinda cool! Wonder if there will be any Rambo stuff... Aidriannnnnn. Opps, wrong movie.

Call of Duty - Black Ops Multi PlayerTrailer.

Check out the vid... It basically looks like Modern Warfare upgraded! Which is both a good and bad thing I guess. Would have been nice to see a new approach to the multi player side of things but I guess if its not broken then theres no need to fix it... Some cool new gadgets and perks are added and the lil camera in the corner is also a nice addition. Wonder if the helicopter will be usable online, I bet it will. Regardless, it will be fun driving a remote control car-bomb up some poor feckers sphincter - Boom - Ass Shot!

CoD - Black Ops Full trailer.

The more and more I see of this title the more and more it reminds me of another game... hmm, whats its name now? Oh yeah... Modern... somethin-r-other. Still, cant wait to give it a go! This time round you will get to pilot a chopper apparently, among other surprises such as remote controlled devices and super flying powers, eh well maybe not the last one...

Call of Duty - Black Ops Trailer.

Ok, so here comes the Call of Duty train of games we were warned about, kicking off with Black Ops... which actually looks not bad from this trailer. Very Modern Warfare like, but we shall see if Treyarch can pull of the same magic as Infinity Ward did. We even have the date! Should be interesting...

Infinity Ward Vs. Activision - Trouble in Paradise? (Update)

Infinity Ward president Jason West and studio head Vince Zampella have left the company, appearing to have been sacked by the studio's owner Activision amid dramatic scenes and claims of breach of contract and insubordination. Activision alledgedly then sent some 'heavies' around to the Infinity Ward studios.

G4 turned up a Securities and Exchange Commission filing by Activision earlier in the day indicating that the publisher was investigating senior staff at Infinity Ward, and expecting to sack and sue them.

"The Company is concluding an internal human resources inquiry into breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward," the filing read. "This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation."

Meanwhile, Kotaku turned up a Facebook status update from West that read, "Jason West is drinking. Also, no longer employed." His profile on the professional networking site LinkedIn also appeared to have been updated, showing his role as "President/Game Director/CCO/CTO at Infinity Ward" as a "Past" employment.

Game creator Tim Schafer, whose Brutal Legend was dropped by Activision before being picked up by EA, commented on his Twitter: "Getting mad at Activision for this kind of thing is like getting mad at an ape for throwing feces. It's just how the beast communicates."

Update: New 'Call of Duty' Title Announced
In what may not be an unrelated story, Activision has announced Sledgehammer Games, a newly formed studio led by former Visceral Games executives Glen A. Schofield and Michael Condrey, will develop a new Call of Duty title that will "extend the franchise into the action-adventure genre."

The publisher also confirmed it will release another Call of Duty title in 2011, but it's unclear as of now if this is the same title Sledgehammer is currently developing. This leaves the door open for another studio, possibly Infinity Ward, to develop the 2011 title.

The company also confirmed Treyarch is handling development on the Call of Duty title to be released this fall. Meanwhile, Infinity Ward is still set to develop and release the first two downloadable map packs for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Hmm... the thick plottens.

Call of Duty - Modern Warefare 2 - TV Advert - MP News - XBL Avatar

Lots of Modern warfare goodies today, the Infinity ward hype machine is in overdrive and to sucker you into parting with more cash they are selling cool duds for you avatar on XBL (above)... cant say I agree with charging for these little items, why cant they just put them into the game as unlockabels instead?

Also it is being reported that the Xbox and PS3 multi player cap of 18 players (9v9) per game is now to be imposed on PC players who were expecting 32 player slots like in the previous COD games... This may have something to do with Infinity ward dropping the dedicated servers and adopting the console system to host matches... sucks for the poor PC gamers as it takes away one of the key reasons to play it on your computer, don't be surprised if PC sales are down because of this while pirate copy's go up, tut tut Infinity Ward! You shouldn't punish your hard core players!
