IAA Award - Duke gives his thoughts and so does Bing!!

The Interactive Achievements Awards (well worth a look at the winners) were held just recently and here are two great vids from the event. The first is Duke telling it like it is, he the man with chicks on his mind!! The other is a brief rhyme for winner Bing Gordon, a big man in EA and gaming in general! But it is what he says about how gaming has influenced the world and how it had to crawl on its hands and knees in order to get there... it almost makes you proud to be a gamer! Cheers G4TV - Enjoy!

Duke Nukem Forever - Rady talks Duke!

Any of you that remember Duke Nukem will be wetting you pantaloons in anticipation of this game as it has only taken over twelve years to make. Well the press reveal was held in strip clubs called 'Titty City' and G4's Adam Sessler got a good interview with Randy Pitchford of Gearbox, the new and some what original owner of the Duke... its a perfect example of things coming full circle. Check out the interview below, and remember... Hail to the King baby!

More Halo Reach Maps in March: Defiant Map Pack

The big Cheese Major Nelson has let the cat out of the bag that there are three new Reach maps coming to the 360 in March for 800msp. That means new achievements, 150 points worth in total! Below is a rundown on the individual maps as posted on Major Nelsons blog. And above is a vid to tickle your taste buds. Nice to see more support for Halo Reach and at a decent price... yesh Activision - I'm talking in your direction!!

Condemned
Condemned takes place aboard Orbital Station Gamma, a massive space station high in orbit above the planet Reach. Prior to the Covenant’s overwhelming invasion, Orbital Station Gamma provided long range communications for UNSC fleets and a vital lifeline between Reach and Earth. During the Battle of Reach, the station suffered terrible punishment at the hands of the Covenant but a few fortified sections remain intact, fully pressurized, and ready for combat. Condemned supports 6 – 12 players in a variety of action-packed game types, including Team Slayer, Team Objective and Free for All.

Highlands
Highlands takes place on the top-secret Military Wilderness Training Preserve on Reach. The Preserve is a large, wooded area where Spartan super-soldiers trained long before the war with the Covenant began. During the Battle of Reach, the Preserve was the site of key battles between the alien invaders and a group of Spartans who used their familiarity with these UNSC training grounds to significant tactical advantage…but not everyone who enters these woods makes it out alive. Highlands expands the fight with massive-scale engagements for 8 – 16 players in Big Team Battle, Team Slayer and Team Objective.

Unearthed
Unearthed takes the battle for Reach to a large Titanium mine and refinery located in the Viery civilian sector of the planet. This particular mine was built to take advantage of the exposed titanium inside a massive meteor crater. The titanium produced here is used in much of the UNSC hardware, from the chassis of the Warthog to the meters-thick armor plating of capital ships like the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. While this facility was quickly abandoned when the Covenant arrived on Reach, it still has significant tactical (and economic) value and it won’t be long before both humans and Covenant return to battle for control. Unearthed allows up to 4 players to launch a counterassault against the Covenant in Firefight and Firefight modes such as Generator Defense.

Its Gabe to be the Gaming King...

Gabe Newell is a king among gamers! For those that dont know who he is, he is head of Valve and the big kahoona of Half Life and all its spin offs, including Left 4 Dead, Portal and of course the Steam platform. He is also so wealthy that Forbs.com have done a special article on him which you can and should read here - Forbes.com

Gabe and Valve have always done their best to give fans what they want along with caring about the quality of their games and not just knocking em out like a horny monkey... or Activision. There is loads in the article, like the fact that Gabe had to get new eyes due to a disease, how Valve are more successful than Apple or Google when measured by the ratio of profit to employee. Also how most of the staff started from being home brew modders and of course the huge amounts of money the company is worth today. Personally I have a mega amount of respect for the guy and I hope he stays around for a long time to come. He is truly a gem in the gaming world and other developers could learn allot from his success!

If you have any interest in the future of gaming then this is well worth a look, if not then... don't bother your lazy ass, tut-tut. It is well worth a read though!
