War on Sony - Anonymous puts out the Hit!

Ok, so we all know by now that Sony have had a spot of bother lately due to some 'Hacking' issues... Should Sony have the right to defend themselves? Should people have the right to use a bought product in whatever way they want? Should the might of the customer hold a company to ransom? Well, we don't have the answers and were usually too drunk to care but if all this is of interest then please read on... we are drunkards!

taken from gamespy.com:

Hacker activist group Anonymous launched its first volley in its war against Sony, successfully gumming up the works at PlayStation Network and related PlayStation 3 websites. Sony successfully countered the distributed denial-of-service attacks on its servers by enlisting the aid of anti-DDoS specialists Prolexic Technologies.

But the war is far from over, Anon promises in a new interview, and the worst is yet to come. Speaking with PlayStation LifeStyle over a secure chat channel, Anon member Takai said Sony was wise to hire Prolexic, but it won't protect the company from what the hackers have planned. "So far, all Sony has seen from us is poking and prodding," Takai told PlayStation LifeStyle. "A simple salute to let them know we're coming. Make no mistake, what you saw today and thought to be frustration is merely preparation for what's to come.

We said, expect us. Counting us out would be a mistake." Exactly what Anon has planned remains unknown, but Takai said the group is "really going all out for this one." And what about all of the PS3 gamers that simply want to log on to PSN to play games online as the attacks escalate? "The consumers in this are as one might call, collateral damage," said Takai. "We are very cognizant of the fact that we are not making friends nor allies among the average consumer with our attack. This is unfortunate... will the very people we seek to support not see what it is we are trying to achieve? In this case, many don't.

There has been a lot of hate spread throughout the internet and over forums that we are being reckless and simply punishing consumers more than Sony... Before you judge us, take the time to understand us."

Battlefield 3 and Pre Order

This is the game's official description.

"In Battlefield 3, players step into the role of the elite U.S. Marines. As the first boots on the ground, players will experience heart-pounding missions across diverse locations including Paris, Tehran and New York. As a U.S. Marine in the field, periods of tension and anticipation are punctuated by moments of complete chaos. As bullets whiz by, as walls crumble, as explosions force players to the ground, the battlefield feels more alive and interactive than ever before."

Call of Duty - Black Ops - Escalation is a Go!

**Update ** Screw the Rock - I can smell when a rumour is cooking true or false and this one had true tattooed on its ass from the start - Its official 'Escalation' for Black ops is a go!! Its coming on the 3rd of May to Xbox, so less than a month to wait. Major Nelson let the monkey out of the bag today (check here for that). He also revealed that it is going to be the usual rip off price of 1,200msp - Told ya it would be that too, didn't I, eh! So I recon I'll just wait for a sale or something cos I felt like a cheep used whore after buying the 'First Strike' pack- and buying 2 map packs for Call of Duty costs nearly the same as buyin a new game, dirty, greedy Activision... Grrr!

Original post:
Here we go again, another multi player map pack for Black Ops... the last one (First Strike) wasn't bad if a tad (allot) overpriced. The new second pack - 'Escalation' looks like it will have about four maps and a zombie mode level - Seize the Zoo - Take the Hotel - Secure the Convoy and Raid the Stockpile with the possible zombie one being - Survive Call of the Dead. So that's a fairly big map pack but it would be nice if they supported some single player action too... or even some co-op type thing, arg!

Its coming on May 3rd (2011) to Xbox and soon after for PS3 and PC. The price? Well no official word on that yet but I can bet its going to be at least 1200 msp - unless Activision have seen the error of their ways and decide to charge a fair price... actually they might charge 1600msp. Greedy fookers! We will update you with more on this when we get it... for free!
