Assassin's Creed 2 First DLC out today - See Trailer!

Well, here we go again, getting ripped off for DLC that should have been in the game to begin with... Assassin's Creed 2: Battle of Forli DLC is one of the missing chapters from the game and is available today to download on XBL and PSN. It is cheap enough at 320msp or $4.00 (3 ish euros) on PSN but is it worth even that? There are no extra achievements or trophys to accompany this, which really sucks the Italian sausage but it is said to be an enjoyable and pleasant enough game experience. Judge it for yourself...

iThis... iThat... iPad... iCrapper...

Well the second coming is here for many, nope not the dude with a beard and dress, it's the Apple iPad (can you say big iPhone?). I'm sure it's great and will eventually cure cancer... yada, yada, yada! But how are the games on it? Not great from the reports... it sounds like Mr Jobbie is blowing smoke up our ass by telling us how great everything on the iPad is and hoping we believe it all. Truth is Apple have their work cut out for them in the games arena and in my humble opinion are a bit limp dick about it anyway. Scaling up current iPhone games is not gonna cut it and unless more effort and thought is put into the game development they can say its prayers and kiss their gaming ass goodbye. Still, nice to see advancements in technology even if it is only a stepping stone to a greater rock. Here's a clip of the 'Nova' game (mild Halo rip off) and it is less than impressive... don't you think?

Aha!! That's why Lost Planet 2 has Gears in it... um!

Well, mystery solved... sort of. The Dude, Mr. Cliff Bleszinski has commented on the appearance of our favourite Xbox Gears of War bad asses appearing in Lost planet 2... here's what he said about the Epic/Capcom crossover:
"We're mutual fans of each other's work and crossovers are darned cool so we sent over the Marcus and Dom models for implementation" When asked on how much involvement the Gears will have in the game he Dudd'ed out this:"I can't speak about the controls for LP2," & "Anything else about how it's accessed or used in game remains to be revealed. I'll leave that to Capcom's capable hands." Ooooo What next? Maybe Lara Croft will get it on with Master Chief?! Sweet!!!

Game Companies coming to Ireland...

Growin up in Ireland as a gamer makes you rely on America, Canada and the UK for all things gaming and for any future opportunities in the games industry, which has always been a real pain in the ass! Well, that is slowly changing. There are several game companies based in Ireland, (Havok being the best known) but nothing compared to other U.S. and European companies and with the speculation that the Irish government are trying to lure many Scottish based production houses comes the news from RTE that 'GALA' are to create around 100 jobs in Dublin's Digital Hub, things are looking more promising. Apparently Ireland has the perfect skill set to take on the games companies and will be offering tax incentives in order to make it (the cold and rain) more attractive! Well as a Dubliner this makes me very happy, sorry to our Scotty brothers across the pond... GTA paddy style anyone??

Dead Rising - The Movie!

Oh sweet Jesus on a flying carpet, they have gone and done it again, those crazy Japs! The irony of turning a zombie game into a movie is too obvious to comment on so I'll stick to slagging the fact that they have gone and made a truly 'Jap-esq' mess of a good IP. The game of course kicks ass and with Dead rising 2 on the way the zombie fun looks set to thrill our sick minds even more. The 'Movie' will be available to download on xbox live in the near future and should be a good laugh - for all the wrong reasons! I'm sure our own 'Master Gii Bag' will have a field day with this when he sees it. Check out the trailer below for some over the top FPS, gory and downright shameful film making... Cant wait for the sequel!
