E3 - Let the madness begin!!

All seasoned gamers know what 'E3' is because its where we get our first real taste of the goody games to come and quite often 'surprise' announcements are revealed. Its like a gamer Christmas... in the summer... with lots of weirdos doing Cos Play. As a lil run up to the event we thought that you guys and gals would like to see just a few of the hyped games that are set to strip off and run naked at the event so check out the vids below.

Don't forget E3 kicks off for June 6th and will be covered across all gaming news sites. Personally I recommend the following to watch it on - Epic Battle Axe - Giant Bomb - G4TV - and Gametrailers.com. Also, Spike TV will be covering the event in a more 'exclusive' manner. Of course we will also be doing our best to bring you the highlights. God, I love games!!

Wii 2 - a bigger stronger wii

"We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles," the company said in a brief statement.

The new Wii 2 is promising to have more power than the PS3 and Xbox 360, and be backwards compatible with current Wii titles.

The console aka Project Café will also have a new, tablet-shaped controller. With a 6-inch touch screen display, dual analog sticks, and has the ability to stream content directly from the console. And a Hi-Def 1080P output.

But wii will have to wait until E3 this year to see if Nintendo can live up to this mighty claim..

Wii 2 is currently expected to come in at around $350 to $400 or €237 to €270 approximately.

Wii in it my friend and you'll get a Goldeneye!

Well it has FINALLY happened! After what feels like an eternity (in Zelda years) Nintendo announced today at E3 the return of the almighty and all round awesome Goldeneye.

N64 owners will remember just how incredible this title was in it's day, not to mention what a huge game changer it was in the evolution of the first person shooter. By the looks of the vid below it's gonna rock and I for one am readying the Martini shaker as we speak!

Lot's of returning features, among them the Four-Way split screen and by the looks of things the atmosphere and soundtrack that made the original will be piled in as well...

Have to say Nintendo's E3 is emerging in a favorable light with the 3DS and a brand new Zelda, but more on all that to follow. For now I'm going to go dust off the Wii....... To think I was gonna sell that little puppy!

New Nintendo Console Rumoured

Get ready to Wii number 2...

Developers are working on a new Nintendo console ahead of a possible unveiling at this year's Game Developers Conference, reports VideoGamer.

The website claims to have received the information from an employee with a major international publisher.

"Just heard a rumour that you may be interested in: Nintendo are going to announce a new platform at GDC. Some devs have already started work on it," said the source.

It is unknown whether the new system is a handheld, home console or something different. The insider also explained that the platform's existence is a certainty, though an appearance at GDC is merely a possibility.

Rumours of Nintendo's next hardware project have circulated since 2008. In a recent interview, studio president Satoru Iwata discussed the company's next move.

"If asked if making the Wii compatible with high definition - just making it compatible with high resolution - will get players throughout the world to buy it, I would of course say 'do you think it would sell with just that? It needs something new." he said during a session.

"If there were no rival makers in the world, I could give examples of the things that we are considering. However, for competitive reasons, I cannot give specifics today on the what or when of the things we're considering."

A Nintendo spokesperson refused to comment on the potential new console, dismissing the report as "rumour and speculation".

I Want Bigger! BIGGER! B- I -G- G- E -R!!

In a surprising move, Nintendo have announced a larger version of their smash-hit handheld gaming device DSi. The new DS, sporting a substantial sizing up of the dual screen is being given the moniker DSLL in Japan with an expected release date of November 21st. We can expect to get our grubby little Euro-Fingers on it early 2010 when it lands here as the Dsi XL. The new dual screen size will be 4.25 inches and pricing available so far is around 20,000 Yen ($220) but we'll let you do the Euro math!

Strange move if you ask us, coming at a time when Sony is reducing it's screen size on the PSP Go and most mobile devices are working their asses off to shed a few pounds! But as we've learned in the past, the one thing the Japanese giant knows for sure is the handheld market...

Wii Like It...

In a mystery, wrapped in an an enigma, wrapped in a riddle Wii gamers have been left, well, Wii-ing with excitement at news that the classic N64 title 'Goldeneye' is set for a comeback and it won't be a re-hash, more like Goldeneye 2010. It has to be said however, it is but a rumour.

Gaming-industry site Superannuatation reported a CV belonging to a video game animator who had worked for Eurocom Entertainment Software (Quantum of Solace, Nightfire) was posted on-line claiming to have worked on Goldeneye 2010 Wii: "Animator on Activision's James Bond series for the Nintendo Wii assisting in: Key frame animation, the preparation and clean-up of motion capture data, prop animation, in-game cut-scene animation, scene layout, and camera animation." The CV was later pulled...

Neither Nintendo or Activision will comment on the news (When they don't talk it must be true, right?) and several industry insiders believe it to be likely, sooner or later. The reason for it taking so long? Well, if you remember Microsoft took over 'Rare' (who originally developed the title) and Activision subsequently swooped in and bought the rights to 007, creating the proverbial licensing blackhole.. And we all know Nintendo and Microsofts behavior when it comes to the 'L' word!

So what do you think? Would Goldeneye kick ass on Wii? Nunchuck PPK anyone? Or just dust off the old N64 for the time being...
