Reaper Gaming site update...

If you follow this site then you know we, from time to time, hit dry periods... well this isn't such a time! We are actually in the process of making the site better and relocating to a more pro setup than 'Blogger'. As a result we have been busy doing tecky stuff and have missed a few beats... such as the announcement of Modern Warfare 3 and some other general news bits. Just want to assure you this wont continue for long and we will update you when the new setup is complete... so go easy on those 'WTF?' emails please. In the meantime we will try to keep you informed on stuff as much as possible while juggling our own issues. Thanks for your patience and Cheers for your following. Word!

Dead Island - More Zombies than you can Shake a Mai-Tai at!

Mmm Zombies, I love em. Squishy, bloated shit bags that burst open like a ghoulish pinata when poked by sharpened metal. What fun! If you also have a love of all things apocalyptic then you will love the newest FPS 'Dead' game due to hit the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC soon. Its called 'Dead Island' and looks like a Hawaii setting infested with retarded meat heads ready for mincing. Is this just another L4D attempt? Perhaps, but whats so wrong with that eh... The cool trailer below will give you the tone its going for and check out the website here for a full rundown on what to expect. Happy zombie stomping!

Dead Space 2 - Mommy says NO!!!

A stroke of genius here! With just a couple of weeks left to the arrival of Dead Space 2, the lads over at Visceral games have released the vid below as a promo. It involves a bunch of moms checking out the game and giving their thoughts. Though their dislike for the game is predictable its is still fun to witness... and as they say - its a great way to know if something is good! They hate it... good news for us!

New Year, New Stuff... Eventually!

Well boys and girls, I hope you had a great Christmas and got to catch up on the mountain of backlogged games over the holiday while avoiding the homicide of the Christmas madness? We are all still feeling a bit full and over liquefied after it all but are keen to start reporting bits and bobs from the gaming world. Unfortunately, there is nothing of real interest to report, sweet FA in fact, how disappointing. Soon we will have some more tasty titles such as Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm ect. But not yet, currently its just 'Dead'. Keep an eye out for more to come though cos once things start movin and groovin we will be on its ass like Wacko Jacko on Bubbles... I mean that in a heterosexual way of course. Now, where did I leave those turkey legs... slurp.

Red Dead Redemption - Undead Nightmare - Two Trailers

Wooh Hoo, the zombies are coming! How do you kill a walking shit bag when you don't have the luxury of shopping mall items to beat them with, nor automatic weapons/pipe bombs to blow them to bits??? Personally I would run like hell but in Red Dead you will have to BBQ zombies or douse them in holy water... oh and of course theres shotguns and dynamite as optional extras! Looking forward to some good old wild west zombie slaying, it cant come soon enough I recon! Check out the two trailers below for the crispy fleshed out details.

Mortal Kombat - Scorpion Trailer - Come Heeer!!!

As yes, I remember being a young man playing the first MK with friends many years ago, the drinking, the slagging, the sore thumbs... those were the days! Although we pretty much have done that with different games over the last two decades anyway, but still... ya cant beat nostalgia. Well now its back and is coming to a realm near you, we just don't know when. Check out one of my favourite characters to play as - Scorpion. I like his big chain... oops pardon!

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - The Story Vid

Nice bit of atmosphere building in this new trailer for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. I know its all been about the multi player so far but personally I'm looking forward to the single story mode and it is looking pretty good I recon. Its out next month so get ready to sharpen the blades and kill some pedo's, the Assassin's are coming!

Gamer Expo - Date Postponed - Doh!!

We have some bad news boys and girls, The Gamer Expo that was set to take place over the October weekend in Dublin, Ireland, has been postponed due to a technical hitch. Our sympathies go out to the lads organising it! On a more pleasant note, we have been assured that the Expo will have a new date, possibly early on in the new year! We imagine that it will give the Expo even more time to add more great features to its line up, so perhaps it will be for the better in the long run. If you have bought tickets to the event the lads will honour this, just get in touch with them. You can see the official line below. We will of course let you know any new info on the event and a new date as soon as we hear it. Looks like the Reaper Crew will have to host our own little Halloween gaming party and put on something scary, for us that means dressing up like normal people while talking about politics and other 'mature' type shit! Arg!

"
Due to an issue raised by the Senior Executive Fire Prevention Officer in relation to the Citywest Convention Centre, GAMER Expo 2010 has been postponed until further notice. We wish to confirm that all ticket purchases will be honoured (or refunded). For refunds enquire with your ticket agent or email info@gamerexpo.net. It is our intention to re-schedule the event at a later date at Citywest Convention
Centre, when the issues with the Fire Protection Officer are resolved, or alternatively at a different venue. Further details will be released as soon as possible."

Microsoft give you something for FREE! Sorta...

Microsoft are actually going to give you 800msp for Free!! No shit! Oh, hang on, there is some shit... You must first spend 2400msp on Xbox live. Oh, and it must be done within the month of October! You will get your free points at the end of November - if you splashed enough cash previously of course. So I'm not too sure if this is such a great deal, handy if you already planned on buying stuff I guess. If you live in France or Italy, I'm afraid this offer isn't open to you for some bizarre reason... maybe its because u is like ultra European or just better looking than most races?! Anyway, you have been informed... Enjoy your not-so-free-free-msp!

Halo Reach - The Noble Map Pack coming Nov 30th

Bungie are not ones to rest on their ass, time is money after all! They have already announced a free co-op add on coming soon for Reach and now a new, not so free map pack - 'The Noble Map pack', due for download on November 30th. It will go for 800msp, (which is allot cheaper than COD maps) and will contain 3 new playgrounds - Tempest, Anchor 9 and Breakpoint. It will also have new achievements adding up to a 250 points gamer score. Check below for picks and the official word about each map.Lots of fun...

Tempest
"Though we may never fully understand these devices, it is not our nature to leave ancient stones unturned." This abandoned shoreline facility bends both sea and sky to an unnatural purpose, but the ground itself has quickly become another all too familiar battlefield. Though the two opposing symmetrical bases may never reveal their ancient purpose, both now offer makeshift shelter and access to strategic routes perfectly suited for small and large scale skirmishes alike. Tempest supports 8 – 16 players and offers a variety of modes including Free for All, Team Slayer, Team Objective and Big Team Battle. Tempest also provides players with a huge Forge palette, allowing them to create new custom map variants that can be shared with the community-at-large.

Anchor 9"Orbital dockyards provide rapid refueling and repairs for a variety of UNSC vessels." Within the confines of this low orbit dry-dock, UNSC craft undergo rapid repair and rearmament in support of the enduring war effort. But for the small squads of infantry who now fight over the mirrored interior hallways and open central hangar bay, this platform no longer provides any safe harbor – whether the close quarters combat is occurring inside or out of its artificial gravitational field. Anchor 9 allows 2-8 players to face off in game variants including Free for All, Team Slayer and Team Objective.

Breakpoint
"ONI officials believe the data buried within this artifact is key to our survival." Atop this icy precipice, the Invasion continues. These modular archaeological labs were never intended to withstand such a large scale onslaught of Covenant military power, but the information being extracted here may prove vital to humanity's survival. In response to the imminent Covenant threat, UNSC ground and air assets have been deployed to bolster entrenched Spartan countermeasures. This dig site must yield salvation, or it will become a grave. Breakpoint offers multiplayer mayhem for 8-16 players, and supports the Invasion and Big Team Battle game variants.

COD Black Ops - Multiplayer Customization Trailer

Aww Jesus! Its all war today! More testosterone filled nut sacks with guns in Call of Duty Black Ops, this time its all about what you can customise for the multi player. It sure looks like theres loads going on here, just check out the vid below for the details. Show me the Munny MoFo!!

Homefront Multiplayer Debut Trailer - Red Dawn?

Homefront looks pretty cool with the whole invasion on home soil theme and not a quiffed 'Patrick Swaze' in sight! For those of you old enough to cop that little reference then you will remember 'Red Dawn' in all its 'America - Fuck Ya!' 80's type sentiment... it was great! If you don't know it... look it up ya lazy geek! Homefront is looking like that vibe of game but for modern times, personally I think it looks like a shit load of fun even if it might only be a play and throw away title. That said, is there room for another modern war game at the moment? Time will tell... Check out the multi player trailer below, not allot of actual playing going on though... still, looks nice - "Go Wolverines".

Medal of Honor - Danger Close Trailer - Its so Real!

The latest news that EA have backed down and renamed the 'Taliban' to 'Insurgents', or some suck cak, doesn't take away the fact that this game looks very realistic and pretty kick ass! Check out this 'Danger Close' trailer below and you will see what I mean, especially at the end... Ka-Boom! Why don't the just call the baddies 'Durka Durkas'?! Works for me!
