So 2012 is coming and along with the possible end of the world scenario there will be the usual invasion of sporty games begging for our cash. Time to pick sides again - Pro Evo or Fifa? - the eternal question, eh?! Fifa always had the polish and licences that have eluded Pro Evo and with Fifa basically stealing Evo's great gameplay mechanics in recent years, it has really been a tough time for poor old Evo. Since about 2007 Evo has struggled to get back its glory but with little sucess, only the hard core supporters have been keeping the title afloat, at least up on till this year with Evo 2011, which was better but still not quite there... Below is a vid of the Evo creator 'Seabass' giving us a yarn on what improvements to expect in the coming game. I really hope they do sort their shit out and make Evo 2012 a great game, we here at Reaper Towers have very fond memories of the series as far back as when it was know by the name 'International Superstar Soccer' or ISS. Yeah, I know... were old.
Ready to have the Be-Jesus scared out of you again? Good, I thought so. Konami have released some new screenshots for the upcoming 8th game in the Silent Hill series, Silent Hill: Downpour. Developed by the Czech company Vatra Games, this latest outing will see you in control of Murphy Pendleton, a Con who finds himself stranded in Silent Hill after the prison van transporting him crashes. As well as the familiar undergarment staining plot and devilish puzzles, we'll also get to explore the southeastern areas of the town which up to this point have not been seen. Silent Hill: Downpour is pencilled in for release at the end of this year on Xbox 360 and PS3.
Sticking with our October spookfest here is another classic horror based game! Castlevania - Lord of Shadows! Loved the original 2D scrollers but this is looking like a cross between 'God of War' and 'Dantes Inferno' both of which were excellent games, if ya like a bit of action smothered in fantasy! Looks nice and mature also which is never a bad thing, sorry kiddies! Check out the Documentary below on the game but I warn you - the intro and music are crap and its quite long so go make a cuppa. That said it is informative on the story to come.
Back in the day Pro Evo and International superstar soccer as it was know previously known (Winning 11 in the U.S.)was the Daddy of Balls!! It made Fifa look like a retarded cousin. Pro Evo didn't have the same polish as Fifa but it was the best footy game in terms of playability... It is a different story nowadays and Fifa is now the one pissing all over Pro Evo, which is a shame. Hopefully Pro Evo 2011 can change this cycle with new features like online Master League and new commentary (thank God,) to name a few. So I say Konami, drop the fancy FMV bits (like the one below) and start focusing on the game like you used to!! Put this one in the net ya lazy feckers!
