Friday Frugal Findings - 29th April 2011

If you're in the UK at the moment or anywhere else in the world come to think of it and you're like me, you'll be hiding under the bed just in case you hear the words Royal and Wedding. Which will no doubt send you into a frightful rage ending up with you bludgeoning some fecker to death with their own shoes. If this sound familiar then take my advice. There is no way to avoid eejits going on about this nonsense for at least the next week or so, the only solution is to not go outside, don't answer the phone and for the love of Christ keep the TV and Radio off. Only thing to do then? That’s right, check out our gaming deals for this week and we’ll promise to do our best to keep nuptials and blue-bloods out of it. Our day will come Comrades, our day will come…

Alan Wake; Xbox 360 at Amazon UK
£7.70/$12.83/8.64 Euro

A game that first went into development when Isambard Kingdom Brunel was only a glint in his father’s eye and like most games that take this long to surface, they never quite live up to the hype. Although not a title that will have your arse glued to the couch for more than a few hours it does have its moment.

Bioshock 2; Xbox 360 at Amazon UK
£5.40/$8.99/6.06 Euro

There was a certain amount of sneering about Bioshock’s sequel upon release, all we can tell you is if you loved the first outing then get your thumbs around this one and at this price you won’t be disappointed.

Dead Rising 2; PS3 at Gamestation
£12.98/$21.64/14.47 Euro

Zombies, Zombies, Zombies, if you can’t get enough of them, here’s a game with more that you can shake a chainsaw at. Reviewed
here when first released.

Lucius; PC at Play.com
£17.99/£30.01/20.23 Euro

Here’s one I’ve been keeping my one good eye on for the last few months. At the moment this title is looking a lot like a horror movie which I’m guessing the producers couldn’t get the naming rights to. Lucius is the son of the Devil and its your job to help him off people to gain enough dark powers to take over the world. Well if you call your kid Lucius, its hard to imagine him growing up to be an accountant. Lace Mamba’s latest title is due for release on 11th June.

Dead Rising - Case West - More Mini DLC for DR2!!

More zombie antics for you today, we do love drooling meat bags... who doesn't eh?! Well, we have had 'Dead Rising 2' Case Zero, we will soon have 'Dead Rising 2' but now there is another! 'Dead Rising 2: Case West'!! That's Frank West to you, I and thousands of zombies in a shopping mall. Ring any bells? The dude out of the first Dead Rising perhaps... Yep, hes coming to the new game and will fit into a co-op role for multi player, cool eh! It will also give the story of what happened to him after the events of DR1. But this isn't a prequel, nor is it meant to be during DR2, its set after it all apparently... sort of kills the suspense on whether Chuck makes it or not through the main game eh... Anyway, check out the feature on 'Case West' below courtesy of our good buddie's over at Game Trailers.com

Dead Rising 2 - Zombrex Dead Rising Sun movie.

Oh dear! Capcom are going to release a series of free movies to tie in with Dead Rising. ' Zombrex Dead Rising Sun' is the title and its all very Jap, but for a US audience. Expect to see them over the summer on the lead up to the (new delayed date of September 28th for USA and October 1st in Europe) release of Dead Rising 2. Oh and by the way, the movie looks crap! Hope its not an indication of things to come...

Dead Rising 2 - New Trailer

Well it looks like there are lots of undead topics this week... Dead rising 2 has announced Co-Op play allowing two pals to paint the town red, literally. Early reports of this new mode are disappointing but many suggestions have been made to capcom and hopefully they will have time to add some spice to this much needed feature. There is also news of a 'prequel demo' to be released in the run up to the release of DR2, this is said to contain info on what happened to Frank West, our photo/zombie slaying hero from the first Dead Rising and to introduce our new macho man, Chuck. He is a Family Man with a sad past, Bike racer extraordinaire and now a professional Zombie killer... I like him already! Check out the demo below for a little more insight on our new Dude.

Dead Rising - The Movie!

Oh sweet Jesus on a flying carpet, they have gone and done it again, those crazy Japs! The irony of turning a zombie game into a movie is too obvious to comment on so I'll stick to slagging the fact that they have gone and made a truly 'Jap-esq' mess of a good IP. The game of course kicks ass and with Dead rising 2 on the way the zombie fun looks set to thrill our sick minds even more. The 'Movie' will be available to download on xbox live in the near future and should be a good laugh - for all the wrong reasons! I'm sure our own 'Master Gii Bag' will have a field day with this when he sees it. Check out the trailer below for some over the top FPS, gory and downright shameful film making... Cant wait for the sequel!

Dead Rising 2 - The Game Show... What?!

Looks like Dead rising is a game show along the lines of 'The Running Man', but with Zombies instead of over the hill wrestlers for baddies. Anyway, enjoy the latest TGS trailer.

Dead Rising 2 trailer from TGS - Zombies are such fun.

Pretty poor trailer actually, there's a bit of suspense I guess but not exactly Hitchcock. That said I recon DR2 is going to be awesome, so get out your brushes, were gonna paint the town red... literally!
